Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The Annapurna Base Camp (or "ABC"), encircled by numerous giant snow peaks such Annapurna I (8091-m), Annapurna South (7273-m), Annapurna Fang (7647-m), and Machhapuchhare (6997-m), has one of the most spectacular mountain settings in the Himalayas.

This is probably the most popular trek in Nepal and with its combination of moderate walking and outstanding mountain views, especially at Poon Hill and the BC itself, this is a good introductary trek to the Nepal Himalaya.

Our 11-day trek contours the Modi Khola River on ancient footpaths among steeply terraced rice paddies and through the timeless villages of Nepal’s Gurung and Tamang clans. Views of the "fishtail" spire of Machapuchare and the snowy Annapurnas delight us along the way, and once inside this photogenic mountain sanctuary, we have a full day to explore its glacier wilds from our camp at Annapurna South Base Camp.

Singapore - Kathmandu
Day 2
Journey to ABC begins with 7-hour drive from Kathmandu to the lakeside town of Pokhara about 200km west of Kathmandu where you may have your first glimpse of the beautiful Annapurnas peeking through the horizon.
Day 3 - 13
We start our trek from nearby Nayapul up the Modi Khola river / valley. If weather permits, we will be able to catch the beautiful sunrise over the Annapurna & Daulagiri massifs at Poon Hill after arriving at Ghorepani. Then the trail cuts through thick bamboo and rhododendron forests onto the Annapurna glacier to Annapurna South's Base Camp (4130m). At the base camp, we will be rewarded with an outstanding 360 degree mountain panorama of the surrounding peaks. When conditions are perfect, sunrises and sunsets here turn into an incredible light show. We will have the benefit of an additional day to explore the high ridges and glacier at the Sanctuary. After all, the final aim of our trek is not about getting there and then rushing back, but taking the time to see, explore and enjoy every moment of our presence there.
