Annapurna 10 Day Poon Hill Sunrise Trek
with Options of extension:

A) 2 days Safari at Royal Chitwan National Park;
B) 2 days White-water rafting on Trisuli River;
C) 5 days Rafting and Safari

The Annapurna region is well known for many popular treks. Some people refer to these popular treks as ‘highway treks’ because of the large number of tourists during the peak season from March to May and September to November. While the critics are justified, it is a great pity to miss out on the most spectacular views of some of Nepal's highest mountains - the Annapurnas, Lamjung Manaslu, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) - that can only be seen on these treks. The treks also go through diverse terrain, from the subtropical forests to dry valleys, and from high passes to meandering rivers. The cultural diversity is equally impressive. You will meet various tribes along the way, who have all settled in the shadow of Annapurna. Though most of the inhabitants' lives are still pretty tough, they're ever ready with their generous smiles and genuine hospitality.

The Poon Hill Sunrise Trek is well suited for the beginners or for those who have limited time but still want a real trekking experience. The trek starts after a short drive from Pokhara, the trail passes through rhododendron forest and traditional Gurung village of Ghandruk; a nice opportunity to witness the culture and tradition of Nepalese countryside. Along the way, there are spectacular views of the snowy peaks of the Annapurnas, capped off by the unforgettable mountain panorama from Poon Hill.  The trip can be done throughout the year except during monsoon season.

There is the option to extend 2 more days to do either the exciting class 3/4 Trisuli water rafting or go to Royal Chitwan National Park for safari. Better yet, extend by 5 days to take in both.
